FOCUS AND SCOPE

The AMSE Engineering Journal covers a broad range of topics related to Autonomous Marine Systems and Vehicles, including (but not limited to):

1. Systematic Design & Naval Architecture of ROVs / AUVs / ASVs

Hull-form optimization, dynamic stability, propulsion systems, hydrodynamics and structural analysis, composite materials, power supply and energy management, maneuverability, control surface design, vibrations, noise, and hydro-acoustic issues related to Autonomous Marine Systems.

2. Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC)

Trajectory optimization, collision avoidance (COLREGs), sensor fusion, navigation, fault-tolerant and resilient control, dynamic positioning, machine learning, swarm control, obstacle detection, and real-time state estimation.

3. Main Components & Development

Hydro-acoustic sensors, algorithms, batteries and energy saving, underwater data transfer systems, bio-robots, and coatings.

4. Communication & Cyber-Physical Systems

Acoustic, radio, and optical communication; communication-aware path planning; cybersecurity for autonomous marine systems; computing architectures; and human-robot interaction.

5. Marine Renewable Energy & Energy Harvesting

Wave, tidal, offshore wind, and ocean thermal energy conversion; energy harvesting technologies for marine sensors, autonomous platforms, and underwater vehicles.

6. Safety, Risk & Regulatory Compliance

Safety assessment (FSA), risk analysis, MASS regulations, and human factors in autonomous operations.

7. Operational & Environmental Applications

Environmental monitoring, offshore and subsea operations, search and rescue, swarm operations, and marine renewable energy.
